Spirallianz was the first project of Arne Schaffhausen & Wayan Raabe, best known as techno and minimal band Extrawelt, or tech-trance duo Midi-miliz.

Starting out as DJ’s, they found their pathway to production in the studio of fellow Hamburg natives, X-Dream. The inspiration they took away from these initial sessions soon lead them into creating projects such as ‘Midimiliz’, and ‘Spirallianz’, both of which gained remarkable success in the scene.

In 1997 the first record was released under the name Spiralkind a and Schaffhausen brought out productions for the first time together with Marcus C. Maichel under the name The Delta .

Spirallianz produced a more techno style of psytrance, creating new psytrance sub-genres like tech-trance and progressive psytrance. Their music was already showing signs of great approval in the scene.

Spirallianz were formed in 1998, and soon gained reputation as an innovative project. The German duo produced dark and minimalistic psychedelic trance that immediately stand out from the typical Goa Trance sounds of that period. A year later, Midimiliz was also formed.

However, it was in 2005 that they started a new project by the name of Extrawelt — marking a new musical trajectory, paving the way for an exceptional career that includes a plethora of records, remixes and countless live shows at the most interesting clubs and festivals around the globe.
