Psytrance Kids – The Next Generation
Psytrance Kids – The Next Generation
Psytrance is not so young anymore, many party goers are parents, some are even grandparents. And so, people bring their own kids with them to parties and festivals. That is not a new phenomena.
for a lot of us, a good party is a place of freedom, joy, happiness and games… why shouldn’t our kids be part of it?
Kids were part of the Goa Trance movement since its roots in the late 80s and early 90s in Goa itself. Some of them were even DJing as can be seen in the photo below (Goa Jonas is still DJing and doing much more than that being an active party in today’s Psytrance culture).

For many people it will seem obvious and natural to bring their kids to enjoy a good psytrance party or festival. After all, for a lot of us, a good party is a place of freedom, joy, happiness and games. A safe protected space, why shouldn’t our kids be part of it?
For others, bringing kids to parties is a no no. Not all parties are safe-havens, many parties these days are very far in atmosphere and social dynamics from the secluded hippy communities dancing on the beaches of Goa many years ago.
We don’t have a bottom line to offer here. After all, it’s up to parents to decide how to raise their kids, and there are no clear rules or paths. We do recommend thinking about it seriously. And especially taking into account the noise levels at parties – kids ears are much more sensitive than ours.
[but] not all parties are safe-havens, many parties these days are very far in atmosphere and social dynamics from the secluded hippy communities dancing on the beaches of Goa many years ago.
We would love to hear your thoughts and experiences about the subject. And meanwhile here are some photos, that for sure will bring a big smile to the faces of everyone who loves psytrance and kids.
