Tristan – 10 Essential Tracks

Tristan Cooke is a psychedelic trance DJ/producer from England that only needs to be introduced to newcomers. His passion for psychedelic music was induced in 1993 after coming back from a trip in Asia, and particularly from Goa (India) where the psychedelic movement was already ongoing.

In 1995, he made his recording debut on Matsuri Productions label and released with Andie Guthrie (aka 100th Monkey) their first EP, “Desert Music Part 1”. During the next couple of years , his music was released on various other labels including Flying Rhino Records, Aquatec Records and 21-3 Records. He then joined forces with Simon Posford’s label, Twisted Records and in 1998 he released “Inside Out” EP. For almost an entire decade, his affiliation with Twisted Records was strong and he released 2 albums ”Audiodrome’ and ‘Substance”, a mix album ”Twisted Sessions, Vol. 1, 2002″ and numerous EP’s.
In 2007, he moved to Nano Records and immediately released his 3rd album “Chemisphere”. He also collaborated with big names such as “The Antidote” and released 3 additional EP’s under Nano Records. His latest full-length album released in 2014 “Way of Life” is a living proof of Tristan’s determination to keep rocking the dancefloors and promoting all the positivity and goodness of the psychedelic movement.

Tristan’s DJ and live performances took him around the world, where he performed at some major psychedelic trance festivals year after year . To name a few : Samothraki (Greece) year 1 and 2, Eclipse Festival in South Africa, Solstice parties in Japan, Universo Parallelo in Brazil and even participated in some more mainstream dance events such as Glastonbury. Undeniably, Tristan played an integral role in the development of the psychedelic culture, inspiring countless Psy-Trance artists in the scene and even continues to do so today. No wonder he is still one of the most sought after Psy-Trance DJs in the world, without showing any signs of slowing down, or of losing his talent for true Psychedelic music.
