Profound Records – Our Story in 10 Tracks

Profound Records is a young Indian based PsyTrance label which believes in sculpting and delivering high quality sounds by retaining and preserving the psychedelic scene universally. Profound Records supports the upcoming generation of musicians, talents and DJ’s along with the prominent names in a profoundly way.
Founded in 2012 by Bilas Rajderkar a.k.a Spinal Fusion and Radhika Bhanot, Profound is dedicated to bring the best of Psychedelic Trance and its sub-genres

Profound artists include: A-Fax, Alignments, Aster, Clov, Digital-X, Electric Gene, Floating Spirit, Geometric Flux, Less Is More, Mahut, Michz, Spinal Fusion, Synecid, Wingman, Zatzak & more.

We asked Profound Records to tell us their musical story in 10 tracks. Not an easy task, we’re sure, but a good way for you to get to know the label, it’s history and most important its musical message. So check it out below, and as usual at the bottom, all tracks in one playlist.

1. Spectra Sonics – Phantom

This track came out in the very first compilation “You Are We” which was compiled by label manager Spinal Fusion in 2013. It was one of the finest psychedelic tracks from the compilation which topped in the Beatport charts (#19) and the compilation was also appreciated a lot, giving Profound a worldwide recognition.

2. Outsiders – Brainstorm

This track has been taken from “You Are We” vol.2 compiled by Spinal Fusion, which also happens to be our first physical release, in 2014. Having a track from Outsiders for our anniversary compilation became truly special. The compilation topped the charts digitally and physically too.

3. Spinal Fusion – Intergalactic Travel

This track was taken from the Intergalactic Travel EP released in 2014. This track and the EP itself has been a career defining moment for Spinal Fusion. This also happens to be his first full length EP in Profound.

4. Headworks – Technical Problems

Technical Problems was part of Technical Problems EP by Headworks released in 2015. It’s a psychedelic night-time style track. As a psytrance label we also wanted to release more of psychedelic psytrance along with Full On /progressive psytrance . This EP is one of the popular releases of Profound.

5. Sonic Species vs M-Theory – Samurai Bushwakka (Spinal Fusion Remix)

This track has been taken from Spinal Fusion – Pandora’s EP released in 2015. This track was widely supported, among others by Christopher Lawrence: “This track is amazing! I have been hammering it in every set and it goes off every time”.

6. Journey – Flying Spirit

This track was released in the opening month of the year 2016 .The label manager of Free Spirit Records made his debut EP on Profound and the release stood out to be great. This track kept our spirits high to continue delivering in what we believe is only quality.

7. Spinal Fusion – Crystal Space

This was the second full length EP done by the label manager and it turned out to be the best EP for the label so far. Crystal Space is a pure psychedelic delight creating a more powerful experience on the dancefloor. This track as well as the EP got a huge response from the artists, DJs, listeners and dance-floor addicts.

8. Hypnoise – Namaskaratha

The track Namaskaratha was released on our compilation “You Are We” Vol.3, compiled by Spinal Fusion. The track and the compilation turned out to be a huge success for the label. The Compilation was placed No.1 on Beatport Psytrance Top 100 Releases and #19 Overall Top 10 Beatport Releases.

9. Doppler Shift & GeneTrick – Individual Experience

This collaboration is groovy with deep electrifying sounds, bringing you whole new level of energy. We feel it takes Profound one step further and also widen our focus to quality progressive psytrance .

10. Labirinto – X Dimension

This track has been taken from “Essencia” compilation compiled By Digital-X, which is a pure collection of Brazilian psychedelic sounds. Labirinto has a unique style which makes him one of the prominent representatives for the powerful Brazilian groove sounds. With this release we would like to take an opportunity to work with the upcoming generation along with renowned Brazilian artists.
