Porat – New fresh voice
Porat – New album & Interview
We hooked up with Ron Porat, who just released a debut album – Ritual Resonance on Shamanic Tales Records. It’s an album that is very different than what usually comes out these days on the Psytrance scene, very deep with dubby influences and a lot of space and feel. Reminds us a bit of early Vibrasphere and we can also hear some Cosma influences.

Porat – Ritual Resonance [Full Album]
Tell us a bit about Porat and your musical journey so far.
PORAT is a project that began in 2014 as a way for me to express myself as a young producer. Over the years, I gradually came to understand who I am as a person and what I enjoy listening to and dancing to. As I gained more knowledge and self-awareness, I started to shape my music differently. In the past five years, I’ve had a vision to take my music in a new direction, and the album “Ritual Resonance” marks the first milestone in achieving the signature sound I’m striving for.
You have been releasing music since a very young age but the last year and this album present a very different and we feel much more mature music – what changed?
As I mentioned above, my vision and mentality as a producer and person have slowly evolved into who I am today. My influences from progressive house, techno, and dub music have played a significant role in this evolution. I realized that I wanted to bring something unique to the trance scene. I understood that the only way I could be truly happy as both a person and a producer was to create what sounds good to me, even if not everyone would understand or connect with it. I can confidently say that this is just the beginning of PORAT’s new style, and there is much more to look forward to.
A debut album – Ritual Resonance – tell us about it and the vision behind it.
The vision for this album is to create a solid platform for my fans and listeners worldwide, allowing PORAT to change the way it is perceived. I want to bring more of myself as a person to the forefront.

Your music is very different from what comes out on Psytrance these days, and in some ways reminds us of the music of Vibrasphere and at times Cosma. Aren’t you afraid to release music that is so different from the norm?
Of course, I’m afraid, but that’s precisely what I’m seeking—the understanding that fear is part of the process. I know I need to do what I love to truly succeed as an artist in this crazy, unstable world. My long-term goal is to create a new genre within the psychedelic scene, and I have complete faith that I can achieve it. It will take time, but the foundation for this vision is already in place. Over the past years, this has been my sole focus, and it is taking shape right now.
How did you end up releasing on Shamanic Tales Records, Astrix’ label? Your music is very far from Astrix music.
Astrix has always been an inspiration to me. Without a doubt, he is one of the top producers in the electronic world. When I saw ‘Shamanic Tales’ taking shape, I knew I wanted to be part of it. Now that I’m truly part of the family, I can say that the supportive environment and the feeling of home give me even more confidence to continue on the path I’ve chosen.
What are your inspirations? Musically and outside music.
As I mentioned earlier, most of my inspirations come from the 120 BPM scenes—Progressive House, Deep Hypnotic Techno, Dub Techno, and Dub Music. The realization that I can find what we call “trance” in other genres made me understand that I needed to change and not be just a small part of a genre.
Tell us about your creative process.
In short, I strive to bring myself into my music through my biggest influences, working to refine my signature sound to its best point at any given moment.
Your ultimate all time Psytrance track?
That’s a tough question, but I’ll pick “People On Hold” by Cosma.
Future plans?
There is so much new music and vision taking shape these days, and it makes me incredibly excited to start traveling the world and spreading the word. There is a lot to look forward to, trust me.
