Klopfgeister was founded in 2001 by Thorsten Paul and Jens Schefzig. Jens left the band in 2009 and Klopfgeister is now the solo project of Thorsten.

Their first release was in 2004 on Mental Arts and the Track “How to become a psychic” is a massive Dancefloor Burner until today. In 2005 they were asked from the famous Psy-Label “Balloonia” if they want to release a whole Album there.

Klopfgeister is undeniably the true representative of the German Psytrance scene, with his unique approach and original soundscapes that set him apart from the mass.

Ιn May 2005 the Album “Sweet Compromise” came out and got attention worldwide because of its melodic, emotional, progressive but also psychedelic approach. Due to the crash of “Cosmophilia Distribution”, Balloonia Records and many other independent labels had to quit and so Klopfgeister had to look for a new label

After 5 albums, numerous singles and Live / DJ Sets all over the world Klopfgeister has become one of the most sought after artists due to his strong presence on the festivals and his unique approach to music. He is well known for his deep, emotional positive soundscapes, always combined with a deep groove. Besides this, he also works for TV/Radio Broadcasts as a sound designer and composer and he is also touching the more lower side of electronic music with his sideproject ” Clubgeister”.
