MTV on Acid

In the early 90s MTV, which actually stands for “Music TV”, believe it or not, used to play music videos non stop. It was present in most houses and became a huge source of music to young people.

MTV Chill Out Zone opening:

Those hours … spent in front of the TV, coming down from or getting ready for yet another party. Good times !!!

During the late hours of the night, It was time for the underground music to sneak into the mainstream, and it was the chance for dance music, proper dance music – Acid music – and chill out too. Time for Party Zone and Chill Out Zone. And so, tracks that were played in clubs in Europe, on the beaches of Goa, and chill rooms of London, found their way into the TV screens of the average family home, and opened the minds of many young people to these exciting new sounds. Those hours were also the very few that their older brothers and sisters spent in front of the TV, coming down from or getting ready for yet another party. Good times !!!
