Funkadelic: Dirty Hippy`s new album out now on Zenon Records
“Dirty Hippy – The Star Surfing Tetrahedron” is out on Zenon Records. The album features 8 funky, “Zenonish” tracks, including a massive collab with Grouch & Evil Oil Man.
Dirty Hippy (Daniel Swain) released his debut solo album on Zenon records, and it is Funkadelic! “The Star Surfing Tetrahedron” takes you surfing in space with 8 trippy, hypnotizing tunes. The album starts with Dirty Hippy mix to “God Burgers” by Grouch & Evil Oil Man (Daniel`s brother, Matthew) and Daniel himself. “God Burgers” is the tripiest and most dancefloor-oriented tune on the album, with deep groovy baseline and crunchy sound.
The crunchy unique style of the Australian label is all over this album. Some of the tracks (like Martian Nectar, Astral Funk Clusters to name few) are rich with funky & jazzy elements and inspirations. Spacey aliens sounds are combined throughout the album, giving you the feeling of a real Star-Surfing experience, with aliens in the driver seat.
Super-trippy album, listen to it here:
